Towells is the only Firm of Solicitors in the UK which has seen fit to offer potential clients a Lucky Dip Page on their website. Why have we done that? The answer is, of course, that none of us know what lies in store for us. In the past, we have had clients leading quiet, fairly ordinary lives who have suddenly been subjected to a maelstrom, the complete disruption of their lives. For example, we acted for a Senior Police Officer, Secretary of the Local Branch of the RSPCA, who suddenly came under the Disciplinary Procedures of the Council of the RSPCA. The Case from Hell ensued but acting pro bono, Towells successfully pursued Judicial Review Proceedings, with a High Court Order of Certiorari being granted. More recently, one of our clients, an eminent Fingerprint Expert was suddenly subjected to Disciplinary Tribunal Proceedings in the first ever Case pursued by the Council for the Registration of Forensic Practitioners. Again, acting pro bono, we fought the Case with unbridled aggression and the Proceedings were dismissed. Those Cases are about as rare as being struck by lightening but nevertheless, end up being life changing. Over the years, we have taken on some of the strangest and most difficult Cases. We have a reputation for taking stands on principle and for example, will never act in any Case involving animal cruelty. It is evident that sometimes, the most complex and unique Cases arise, without warning. We cannot plan for such Cases, hence our reference to the Lucky Dip of life. Nevertheless, if your name should be drawn out of the hat, then give us a call. There is no guarantee that we will be able to assist but at least, you will know that you are dealing with a Firm which has had more than its fair share of Lucky Dip Cases.
