I joined Towells Solicitors in l966 and have some 40 years service before the Mast.  After initially qualifying as an Associate of the Institute of Legal Executives and then attending College of Law in Guildford, I was Admitted as a Solicitor in l976.  Over the years, I have acquired great experience of handling Residential and Commercial Conveyancing, as well as Commercial and Corporate work.  I have also assisted countless families through South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire with Probate, Wills and Trusts.  It has been my privilege to provide the same high level of service to all of my clients.  I have also been in a position to look after the interests of the Business Community.  All of my friends, family and clients come from the same Community, so my firm’s reputation means everything to me. Indeed, I take great pride in being able to hold my head high when in the company of Retired Miners, knowing that my firm has Campaigned for years against double-charging Solicitors and others who exploited the British Coal Mining Litigation.  My own father was a Miner and that means everything to me.
I have taken an active part in the Local Community.  I am a past Member of Barnsley Round Table and still attend 41 Club events for fundraising.  In my youth I was a particularly keen sportsman, playing League Table Tennis and football at County Level.  In my younger days, I also played Crown Green Bowls, achieving considerable success.  Sadly, my football days are now behind me but I greatly enjoy fell walking, playing tennis locally and ten pin bowling.  If I had to identify my greatest achievement, I would need to look no further than my son and daughter (with a little help from my wife).
